What we do

Lawn cutting

Regular cuts, crisp edges and clippings cleared away — from cottage lawns to paddock-sized grass across Rogate and the surrounding villages.

Nothing lifts a garden faster than a freshly cut lawn with clean edges — and nothing dates it faster than a shaggy one. Through the growing season we run regular mowing rounds across Rogate, Liss, Liphook and the neighbouring villages, so the lawn is simply always done.

What’s included

  • Mowing at the right height — cut with sharp blades and adjusted through the season: longer in drought and high summer to keep the grass green, shorter in the flush of spring and autumn.
  • Edges — beds, paths and drives edged crisply; it’s the edges that make a lawn look professional.
  • Strimming — banks, verges, around trees and the awkward corners a mower can’t reach.
  • Clippings cleared — boxed off and removed, or left to mulch in dry spells if you prefer.

From cottage lawns to paddocks

We’re equipped for the full range of local grass: pedestrian mowers for smaller lawns and tight gardens, and a ride-on for the larger lawns, orchards and paddock margins that come with country properties around the South Downs. If it grows, we can keep it cut.

How often?

In the main growing season — roughly April to October in West Sussex — most lawns want cutting every one to two weeks. Little and often is genuinely better for the grass: taking a small amount off frequently thickens the sward and crowds out weeds, while infrequent scalping weakens it. We’ll set a schedule to match your lawn and adjust it with the weather; nobody pays for cuts the grass doesn’t need in a dry August.

Beyond the weekly cut

Ask us about the jobs that keep a lawn healthy underneath the stripes — autumn scarifying to lift thatch and moss, spot-treating weeds, and overseeding worn patches so they mend before winter.

Frequently asked questions

How often will you cut my lawn?

Typically every fortnight, weekly at the spring peak if the lawn needs it, stretching out in dry spells. You’re never locked to a rigid schedule that ignores the weather.

Do you take the grass clippings away?

Yes, clippings are collected and removed as standard. In dry summer spells we may recommend mulch-mowing a light cut back into the lawn, which feeds it and holds moisture — always your choice.

Can you cut a very large or overgrown lawn?

Yes. The ride-on handles large lawns and paddock-sized areas, and overgrown grass gets a staged first cut — taken down in passes rather than scalped in one, which is kinder to the grass and gives a better finish.

Do you mow in winter?

Grass barely grows below about five degrees, so regular rounds pause over winter — though a light topping on a mild dry day keeps a lawn smart, and we’re around all year for it.

Where we work: Rogate, Petersfield, Midhurst, Liss, Liphook, South Harting, Trotton, Stedham, Easebourne, Fernhurst, Chichester and the surrounding West Sussex and Hampshire border countryside.
